Glass Dream Turns Pain Into Art on Atmospheric New EP "Tonight, Forever"

ATLANTA, GA  – Some records are created in the moment. Others spend years waiting for the right time to be heard. For Atlanta-based artist Glass Dream, the arrival of Tonight, Forever marks the culmination of nearly a decade of personal growth, artistic evolution, and unwavering perseverance.

Serving as a powerful introduction to Glass Dream‘s forthcoming debut album, Tonight, Forever is a deeply immersive collection of songs that explores the complexities of healing, self-discovery, and emotional survival. Combining the atmospheric textures of dream pop and shoegaze with cinematic electronic production and indie rock intensity, the EP reveals an artist who has transformed personal hardship into something profoundly moving and creatively ambitious.

Built upon sweeping synthesizers, expansive guitar arrangements, and emotionally rich vocal performances, the project draws listeners into a world that is both haunting and beautiful. While fans of artists such as M83, Slowdive, Beach House, The Antlers, and Radiohead may recognize familiar influences, Glass Dream ultimately crafts a sound that exists in its own distinctive space. The artist describes this sonic identity as “synthgaze” or “nightmare pop,” a fitting label for music that balances darkness and beauty with remarkable authenticity.

What makes Tonight, Forever particularly compelling is the extraordinary story behind its creation. The earliest versions of these songs were first recorded nearly ten years ago inside a storage unit outside Athens, Georgia. Although the foundations of the music were established long ago, the material remained unfinished and unheard as life presented a series of personal challenges that reshaped both the artist and the work itself.

Over the years, struggles with anxiety, depression, addiction, loss, and displacement pushed creative ambitions into the background. Yet rather than allowing those experiences to define the future, Glass Dream eventually returned to the music with a renewed sense of purpose following a period of sobriety, recovery, and self-examination.

Reflecting on that journey, the artist explains:

“These songs lived in the shadows for a long time. I was too scared of being judged, too scared of my thoughts and feelings being an open book for anyone to read. The creation of this album became part of my therapy. This record represents not only my rebirth as a person, but also my rebirth and introduction as an artist.”

That emotional honesty serves as the foundation of Tonight, Forever. Across the EP, Glass Dream navigates themes of mental health, addiction, vulnerability, and redemption while maintaining an impressive sense of musical scale. Massive walls of sound collide with intimate lyrical moments, creating songs that feel intensely personal while remaining universally relatable.

Rather than offering easy answers, the project embraces emotional complexity. It acknowledges pain without surrendering to it, finding moments of hope within uncertainty and resilience within struggle. This balance gives the music a rare emotional weight that lingers long after the final notes fade.

The EP also highlights Glass Dream’s impressive abilities as a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Every track was written and recorded entirely by Glass Dream, showcasing a singular artistic vision brought to life through meticulous craftsmanship and creative dedication. The project was subsequently mixed and mastered by Ben Etter at Maze Studios in Atlanta, helping elevate the recordings into a cinematic listening experience that feels both expansive and deeply intimate.

As anticipation continues to build for the full-length debut album later this year, Tonight, Forever offers a compelling glimpse into what lies ahead. The forthcoming ten-song LP expands upon the themes introduced here, presenting an even broader exploration of recovery, impermanence, identity, and healing through music.

At its core, Glass Dream‘s work is driven by connection. The artist hopes that sharing these deeply personal experiences can provide comfort, understanding, and solidarity for listeners facing their own challenges.

“I hope this resonates with anyone who has struggled mentally or battled addiction.”

With Tonight, Forever, Glass Dream delivers a release that is as emotionally courageous as it is sonically captivating. It is a project born from adversity but defined by resilience, offering listeners an unforgettable experience while establishing Glass Dream as a powerful new voice within the modern indie music landscape.

Written and recorded entirely by Glass Dream and mixed and mastered by Ben Etter, Tonight, Forever showcases a singular artistic vision brought to life through meticulous production, expansive arrangements, and deeply personal storytelling.

About Glass Dream

Glass Dream is the solo project of an Atlanta-via-New York multi-instrumentalist creating emotionally charged music from the intersection of indie rock, electronic soundscapes, dream pop, and shoegaze. Describing the project’s unique style as “synthgaze” or “nightmare pop,” Glass Dream crafts immersive songs that explore themes of mental health, addiction, loss, recovery, and personal transformation.

The project began nearly a decade ago with recordings made in a storage unit on the outskirts of Athens, Georgia. Although the music remained dormant for years amid personal struggles that included anxiety, depression, substance abuse, an apartment fire, and significant emotional hardships, a period of rehabilitation and therapy in 2025 inspired a return to the unfinished material.

Reimagined through the lens of sobriety and self-discovery, those early recordings ultimately evolved into a deeply personal debut album and the release of Tonight, Forever. Through lush instrumentation, cinematic production, and fearless vulnerability, Glass Dream transforms lived experience into music that is both deeply human and profoundly affecting.
