For Albuquerque artist and producer Fetty Fresco, independence is not simply how the music gets released. It has become the foundation of the career he is building.
There is something fitting about Fetty Fresco calling his latest record “Off Tha Porch.” The phrase suggests movement, risk and the moment when preparation finally becomes action. Those ideas closely mirror the path Fresco has taken while developing his career from Albuquerque, New Mexico, far from the traditional centers of the music business.
Featuring Ayo Soldier and NBA YoungBoy, “Off Tha Porch” brings together three voices over production from 808 Kartel, giving the record the weight of a major collaboration while keeping it rooted in Fresco’s independent operation, At All Co$t Entertainment. Rather than presenting the feature as a destination, Fresco uses the record as another step in a much larger process.
That process has involved wearing several hats. Fresco is not only a recording artist but also a producer and the CEO behind At All Co$t Entertainment. His background includes more than 100 reported production placements across outlets including CBS Sports, NBC and Discovery Channel, along with eight studio albums and years of independently releasing music.
His musical perspective has also been shaped by more than one region. Although Albuquerque remains home, Fresco has cited his experiences in Little Rock, Arkansas, and San Diego, California, as influences on his sound. The result is a style that pulls from Southern and West Coast sensibilities without feeling locked into either one.
“Off Tha Porch” arrives during a period in which Fresco has increasingly connected his independent world with established names. Earlier, he and Ayo Soldier teamed with Wiz Khalifa on “Smoke Champs.” Now, bringing NBA YoungBoy into the picture further expands that reach while maintaining the infrastructure Fresco has spent years developing himself.
For him, that independence appears to be as important as visibility. Instead of waiting for outside machinery to create momentum, Fresco has continued releasing music through his own company and building a direct path between the artist and the listener.
“This record represents growth, pressure, and elevation,” Fresco says. “It’s about stepping into the game with nothing handed to you and still making something happen.” That statement cuts to the center of both the song and the career surrounding it. “Off Tha Porch” is about the transition from wanting something to actively pursuing it, even when there is no guaranteed outcome.
Fresco’s story is still developing, but his direction is becoming increasingly clear. The goal is no longer simply to prove that an independent artist from Albuquerque can compete on a larger stage. With every new release, collaboration and production credit, he is working to build a stage of his own.
