Chilli is holding down TLC’s live show on her own as T-Boz continues recovering from a recent hospitalization tied to sickle cell disease.

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas will continue performing TLC’s It’s Iconic Tour dates solo while Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins recovers from a sickle cell crisis that required hospitalization. TLC manager Bill Diggins said in a Sept. 3 update that Watkins is improving each day and that her current condition is not considered life-threatening, according to Complex.

Diggins said Watkins’ health and recovery remain the group’s highest priority, adding that she plans to return only after she is fully recovered and medically cleared to perform. Chilli will continue taking the stage each night until T-Boz is able to rejoin her, keeping the tour moving alongside Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.

Watkins’ absence became apparent during TLC’s Aug. 28 show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, where Chilli addressed the crowd about her groupmate’s condition. She told fans that T-Boz was dealing with an episode related to sickle cell disease but was already doing better, then asked the audience to help her “hold her down” during the performance.

A representative for Watkins later confirmed that the singer had been hospitalized following the crisis and was recovering while regaining her strength. The team also thanked concertgoers for singing T-Boz’s parts and supporting TLC during the shows she has missed, calling the response from fans overwhelming.

The latest update makes clear that there is no fixed timetable for T-Boz’s return to the stage. Diggins noted that recovery from a sickle cell crisis can vary, and the group is putting Watkins’ medical clearance ahead of setting a comeback date.

Watkins has lived with sickle cell disease since childhood and has spoken publicly for years about the severe pain and health complications it can cause. For now, Chilli is carrying TLC’s portion of the It’s Iconic Tour solo, with Watkins expected to rejoin the run once her doctors determine she is ready to perform again.
