Parallel Forms introduces “Glacier,” “Mansion,” “Abyss” and “Bloodmoon” as CeaseBeats turns architecture, atmosphere and environmental movement into sound.
CeaseBeats is opening a new creative chapter with The Edifice Themes, an ambitious four-part concept designed to move beyond the world of Portals and explore how buildings, environments and altered spaces can be represented through music.
The new direction expands on the producer’s approach to sound design. CeaseBeats officially released “Portals, Pt. 1” in August 2025, while his catalog has since continued to evolve with releases including “Edifice” in 2026. Rather than simply extending Portals with another conventional installment, The Edifice Themes introduces a broader framework built around four distinct interpretations: Parallel Forms, Mirrored Forms, Polluted Forms and Corrupted Forms.
The first of those ideas, Parallel Forms, will include the tracks “Glacier,” “Mansion,” “Abyss” and “Bloodmoon.” Each title points toward a different environment and visual atmosphere, allowing CeaseBeats to approach production almost like architectural world-building. Instead of treating the songs as disconnected instrumentals, the concept gives each composition a setting, with the music shaped around the imagined conditions surrounding its respective structure or location.
A major part of that process comes through Step FX, the multi-effect system inside Logic Pro. Apple describes Step FX as a production tool capable of rhythmic modulation and extensive sound manipulation through independent step modulators alongside filtering, modulation, delay, reverb and distortion. CeaseBeats plans to use those capabilities to represent environmental movement around different buildings, turning processing itself into part of the storytelling.
The idea began before The Edifice Themes. CeaseBeats previously developed an EP concept titled Step FX’ing, which focused more directly on what could be created with the effect. The EP was eventually scrapped, but its central production idea remained. CeaseBeats has since carried that concept into a larger creative framework, giving the techniques a stronger visual and thematic purpose within The Edifice Themes.
The project also reflects the continued development of CeaseBeats’ production style. The self-taught producer began seriously exploring digital production in 2020, later working in Studio One before transitioning to Logic in 2023 as his approach became more ambitious. Earlier records including “Chaos,” “Blaze (Caught in This),” “Ruby,” “Aura,” “Cosmos” and “Portals, Pt. 1” document different stages of that evolution. The Edifice Themes pushes that progression toward a more visual and concept-driven form of production.
With Parallel Forms, Mirrored Forms, Polluted Forms and Corrupted Forms, CeaseBeats is effectively creating four different lenses through which the same fundamental idea can mutate. The Edifice Themes is therefore less about producing another collection of beats and more about discovering how far sound can reshape an imagined space. Beginning with Parallel Forms and its four announced tracks, the concept gives CeaseBeats room to make each environment feel increasingly distinct while expanding the relationship between sound, structure and atmosphere.
