A Christmas Night Out, The Overtones Way

SEPTEMBER 10, 2026 9:39AM

Christmas entertainment has a special place in British cultural life. Every year, theatres fill with audiences looking for something joyful, familiar and just a little glamorous, and The Overtones have become particularly adept at providing precisely that combination. Their new tour, Jivin’ Home For Christmas, presented by Prestige Productions, will bring the group to 22 venues across the UK this winter as they celebrate 15 years at the heart of British vocal pop.

The appeal begins with the music. The Overtones, comprising Jay James, Mike Crawshaw, Mark Franks and Darren Everest, are renowned for their rich harmonies, polished vocal arrangements and perfectly synchronised dance moves. Their repertoire brings together timeless classics and contemporary material, creating the kind of broad musical experience that can appeal to devoted fans and families searching for an entertaining night at the theatre.

The group’s credentials are considerable. They have achieved six Top 10 albums, multi-platinum record sales and 15 sold-out UK tours, while performing at venues and events of remarkable scale. From the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall to Buckingham Palace and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, The Overtones have demonstrated a rare ability to turn their music into a communal spectacle. Their performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee further cemented their place within Britain’s entertainment landscape.

There is also a sense that the group are entering an exciting period of renewal. Following their summer headline run with Jukebox Idols, featuring celebrated dancers Nadiya Bychkova and Louis Smith MBE, they are now developing original music with Grammy and Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy. For a band approaching such a significant anniversary, the opportunity to combine experience with fresh material makes this festive tour feel particularly well timed.

Jivin’ Home For Christmas begins on November 7 at Whitley Bay’s Playhouse and concludes at Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre on December 17. In between, the tour takes in cities and towns including Peterborough, Liverpool, Glasgow, Bromley, Southend, Birmingham, Ipswich, Stevenage and Guildford. For anyone seeking a stylish, spirited and thoroughly musical Christmas night out, The Overtones promise an evening where the festive season begins with harmony, movement and plenty of sparkle.
