Thatkiddp grew up in Pennsylvania, and music has been part of his world longer than he realized. He started out two years ago making beats with his cousin, just messing around and learning as he went. About a year later he decided to step into the vocal side of things, and that’s when everything started to feel real. For him, music wasn’t just a hobby. It became a way to clear his mind and deal with whatever he was going through.
His cousin played a big role in pushing him toward music in the first place, and that energy stayed with him. What started as something fun slowly turned into a passion he wanted to take more seriously.
Thatkiddp doesn’t stick to one style. He makes rap, indie, punk rock, and lofi pop, and he lets each genre come through naturally. His sound changes depending on what he’s feeling when he creates. He also picked up piano along the way and hopes to learn drums next. The more he learns, the more he feels like he can express the emotions behind his music.
Some of his biggest influences are The Kid Laroi, NFD MUSIK, and MGK. He grew up studying how they put emotion into their music, and you can hear a bit of that inspiration in the way he writes and delivers his own songs.
He dropped his first single in February 2025 and it caught some early traction. But after that moment, he hit a wall and lost his drive. He wasn’t creating the way he wanted to. Eventually he found his way back and started releasing a lot more throughout the year. Even though the numbers haven’t always been big, he’s proud of the fact that every song comes from a real place. His EP this year showcased different genres and touched on things he’s lived through. For him, that authenticity matters more than anything.
When he looks back on what means the most to him so far, it isn’t a milestone or a statistic. It’s meeting new artists and getting to make music with his cousin, the same person who helped him start this journey in the first place.
Right now he’s working on a new album set to drop next year. He doesn’t have performances lined up at the moment, but he does have more music coming, including a new single dropping at the end of this year.
Thatkiddp is still early in his career, still learning, still evolving, and still finding the version of himself he wants to show the world. But one thing is clear. He isn’t creating for attention. He’s creating because music helps him tell the truth, and he’s just getting started.
