British newcomer Yasmin makes a striking first impression with her debut single “Bummer”, a shimmering yet bittersweet pop track that peels back the gloss of picture-perfect summers to reveal the quiet pressures underneath. Written after a string of nights out in June, the track captures the weight of body image struggles, self-perception, and the constant demand to look flawless in a world where every moment feels like it’s being watched.

Sonically, “Bummer” balances airy, addictive melodies with an undercurrent of vulnerability, making it as introspective as it is earworm-worthy. It’s a song that speaks directly to a generation navigating curated happiness under the harsh light of Instagram summers. “There’s pressure to tick every box—happiness, relationships, friendships, money—and it’s unrealistic,” Yasmin explains. “I want this song to remind people it’s okay to overthink… it’s normal.”

Born from a life lived between London, Dubai, Paris, and LA, with a law degree in hand and a strong TikTok following built along the way, Yasmin arrives with a clear sense of identity. She describes her sound as “sad girl pop with soft rebellion”—music for twenty-something women who feel everything deeply but are expected to mask it behind a smile.

With “Bummer”, Yasmin sets the tone for her artistry: honest, contradictory, and deeply human. Dreamy yet melancholic, catchy yet vulnerable, the track is a bold statement of intent from a rising artist who’s unafraid to show that even in summer’s brightest light, shadows still exist.
