Hot on the heels of the high-energy single ‘Walk Te’Jo’, featured in the likes of Wordplay and Music Crowns, Samskara Rad has announced a new release entitled ‘Only Fan’. Set for release on the 19th of April, the track sets a new tone for Samskara’s most popular single ‘BIGGEST FAN’ with dreamy synth arpeggios swaying around gently bouncy drums and a rich bass tone. Where the original glittered with pulsating rhythms and synth wave glow, ‘Only Fan’ builds up an ethereal warmth with softer atmospheres, showcasing a more delicate side to Samskara’s writing.
Samskara speaks on the release, “A dreamy lullaby bubblegum version of Biggest Fan. For me, it’s hard to do slower-paced songs, as I’m always in the minute and driven by energy. So, writing Only Fan taught me how to create emptiness and space in a song and still be energetic, but with a different emotional vibe.”
Performing under the pseudonym of Samskara Rad, Simon Marroco is a passionate musician who has returned after a 25-year hiatus, to release music transformed with new influences, sounds and production. Though recent releases have seen him reignite his love for music, Simon originally emerged as part of the prog-punk band The Mood, which got signed in Melbourne in the 1980s. After the band’s end in 1985, Simon became a yoga teacher and opened one of the biggest yoga schools in Australia, St.Kilda Yoga School.
