“Closed Hands” is the name of my upcoming debut album releasing in November. Closed Hands was a metaphor that I created for self sabotage and a way to describe what the project is about. The project dives deep into the concept of mental health and all of its 4 types. Mood disorders are covered along the album mainly focusing on the depressing times of my life and the times I felt my emotions weren’t in control. Anxiety disorders was always a big part of my life constantly feeling It wherever I went.

During the project I discuss how I would handle my anxiety and how I’ve learned to cope with it. For personality disorders there isn’t a whole lot of talk about it during the album. The focus is pointed more towards the feeling of not feeling like yourself. That might be mentally or even physically if you struggle with your body. I’ve personally had many times in this lifetime where I have felt as if I had lost myself and needed to be found again.

For the psychotic disorders I do cover schizophrenia on the project and tried to capture moments where it gives the listener a chance to hear it first hand. I want every listener to hear the messages I’m sending across the album. This is just all part of the journey the things that you’re currently going through, mental health is a very hard struggle I do understand but don’t give up. The project will have a total of 11 songs, 10 of the songs are solo tracks 1 track has a feature. More will be revealed at a later date you can look for updates on all social media platforms @nickwit2ks. See y’all in November
