‘Space And Time’ Sharpens Waver’s Creative Vision

Time, it seems, has only sharpened Waver’s creative vision. With the release of their new album Space and Time, the rock duo re-emerge with a collection that reflects both their origins and their evolution. Elegant, introspective, and sonically rich, the 13-track record signals a return defined by purpose rather than nostalgia alone.

Formed by Mike Sartor and Dorsey Stone during their university days at Colgate, Waver was born from an immediate artistic connection. Their synergy, Sartor’s timeless songwriting paired with Stone’s textured, progressive guitar work, created a sound that balanced emotional depth with electrifying energy. It was a partnership rooted in instinct and sustained by trust.

Following a celebrated run in Boston’s early-2000s music scene, the duo stepped away from the spotlight. Their reunion in late 2024, however, felt less like a comeback and more like a natural continuation. With renewed perspective and a shared vision, they set out to craft an album that would honour their past while embracing their artistic maturity.

Recorded at Ugly Duck Studios, Space and Time unfolds as a meticulously constructed sonic journey. Sartor’s layered instrumentation, from piano to bass, intertwines seamlessly with Stone’s luminous guitar work, while Brendan McGillin’s drums provide both power and precision. The record’s songwriting showcases individual voices within a cohesive whole, from Stone’s “Always Awake” to the poignant, co-written “I Miss You.”

At its core, Space and Time is an exploration of growth, memory, and connection. Each track, whether the reflective “Blue Tomorrow” or the stirring “Us”, reveals a band attuned to both the past and the present. With this release, Waver offer not just a reunion, but a timeless statement of artistry and intent.

“With ‘Space and Time,’ Waver delivers a powerful return that feels both timeless and deeply personal, capturing the spirit of ‘90s rock while showcasing the growth and chemistry that only decades of collaboration can produce,” shares music publicist Danielle Holian, Decent Music PR.
