Boy Wonder CF Pushes Dembow Beyond Borders With ‘Chosen Few Dembow Deluxe’

AUGUST 7, 2026 6:27PM

With three new collaborations and a lineup spanning multiple generations, Boy Wonder CF presents Dominican dembow as a movement ready to command an even larger international stage.

Boy Wonder CF is not simply adding new songs to an existing album. With Chosen Few Dembow Deluxe, the veteran producer and executive is widening the world surrounding the original project, using three new collaborations to show how naturally Dominican dembow can interact with hip-hop history, nostalgic pop melodies and contemporary Latin urban music. Released through Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, the expanded project introduces “DOMI NYC,” “Dembow Pretty Little Baby” and “Más Delincuente,” each offering a different entry point into the genre’s increasingly global identity.

The strongest example of the album’s cross-cultural approach arrives through “DOMI NYC,” which brings together Fabolous, Dave East, Arlene MC and the late Fatman Scoop. More than a conventional remix, the record captures the deep relationship between Dominican culture and New York City, where dembow, hip-hop and Caribbean identity have shared neighborhoods, clubs and creative spaces for decades. The collaboration feels especially meaningful because it places respected New York voices inside a Dominican-led musical conversation without weakening the rhythm or character at the center of the song.

On “Dembow Pretty Little Baby,” Boy Wonder CF takes an entirely different route by transforming the familiar Connie Francis recording into an energetic Caribbean update. The recognizable melody is rebuilt around rapid percussion and modern dembow production, while NESI, Nino Freestyle, Bigoblin and Chaki Bley bring fresh personality to the concept. It is a creative risk that works because the track never treats nostalgia as a gimmick. Instead, it demonstrates the flexibility of dembow and its ability to introduce older music to a younger audience through a sound that feels immediate, playful and culturally grounded.

“Más Delincuente” adds another layer to the deluxe edition through the involvement of Dominican producer Leo RD, whose work has helped connect the Dominican urban scene with major international artists. His presence strengthens an album already driven by the producers and performers shaping dembow from within its home country. Across the full project, Boy Wonder CF surrounds those voices with artists from reggaetón, Latin trap and international hip-hop, allowing the music to move between styles while maintaining a clear Dominican foundation.

That collaborative balance has defined Boy Wonder CF’s career for more than two decades. Through the Chosen Few platform, he has consistently created spaces where established names and emerging performers can appear alongside one another, often before those sounds receive broader industry recognition. His earlier work, including Chosen Few: El Documental, helped establish his reputation as a producer, filmmaker and curator with a strong understanding of Latin urban music’s direction. His wider catalog and career history, available through Apple Music, reflect an artist whose influence extends far beyond any single release.

Featuring more than 30 artists, including Omar Montes, Nacho, J Alvarez, Kevin Roldan, Divino, Rochy RD, La Insuperable, La Perversa, Ángel Dior, Chimbala, Lomiiel and El Mayor Clásico, Chosen Few Dembow Deluxe presents collaboration as one of dembow’s greatest strengths. Boy Wonder CF has created a project that respects the genre’s street-level beginnings while giving its artists room to compete on an international scale. The deluxe edition ultimately feels less like an ending to the original album and more like evidence that Dominican dembow’s next chapter is already unfolding.
