You don’t have to look far to understand where Tommy “TommyG” Oliveira’s drive comes from. Raised in Newport, Rhode Island, TommyG grew up surrounded by music, watching his father, Thomas “T.O.” Oliveira, turn ideas into records and carve out a name in the industry. “Being around him making beats, working with artists, and building records made me fall in love with the process,” TommyG says. “Especially sampling and how ideas turn into full records.”
It wasn’t just a hobby. Tommy’s dad worked on projects with heavy-hitters like Justin Bieber, Jaheim, The Temptations, and Noel Gourdin, even locking in a Sony Epic Records deal for Gourdin under Trakaddix. For TommyG, that meant witnessing the realities of the music business up close—learning what it takes to move in real industry circles from an early age.
But TommyG isn’t just following in the family footsteps. “I come from a real foundation but I’m building my own lane,” he says. That means blending the sample-based production he grew up on with the urgency and energy of today’s music. He’s focused on creating bold, fully realized records with rising artists like Jaylanie999, 448Gotti, ElijahDaEagle, and JayV, always pushing for a sound that feels both rooted and fresh.
“My favorite part of producing is taking an idea—whether it’s a sample or a melody—and turning it into a full record,” TommyG says. “I like building around the artist and creating something people can connect with.” That collaborative spirit is at the heart of everything he does, whether he’s in a session in Rhode Island, New York, or Los Angeles.
Looking forward, TommyG’s got big plans. He’s intent on growing his own name while reestablishing Trakaddix as a force in the industry, aiming for major placements across genres and deeper industry relationships. It’s about honoring the legacy he was born into, but also carving out his own reputation—one great record at a time.
For TommyG, it all comes back to the music and the people who hear it. “I’m promoting myself as a producer carrying on a legacy while building my own identity—making great music and representing Newport, Rhode Island,” he says. With new records in motion and plenty more unreleased work on the way, TommyG is ready for whatever comes next.
