TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Emerging recording artist Kntry is preparing to release his latest project, “Art of Survival,” a 15-track album with a bonus record set to drop April 4. Representing the 850 area code, Kntry says his music reflects resilience, loyalty and perseverance in the face of betrayal and adversity.

Kntry, who asked that his legal name not be published, describes himself as an artist whose versatility sets him apart from others in the Tallahassee music scene.

“The 850 has a lot of talented artists, but none with my approach and versatility,” Kntry said. “My story is for the ones that have been betrayed, left for dead and still refuse to give up.”

His journey into music began with a challenge from his cousin. One day, while washing his car, his cousin played a CD filled with instrumentals and told Kntry that if he could make him “feel what he was saying,” he would take him to the studio. Kntry accepted the challenge — and never looked back.

“I’ve been doing it ever since,” he said.

Building Recognition and Facing Challenges

Though Kntry has earned recognition from artists within his region, he describes his rise as still in progress. “Nothing too major — yet,” he said.

One of the biggest challenges in his career has been navigating relationships and understanding who truly supports his growth.

“Knowing who’s in your corner and who to cut off is the hardest part,” he said. “Not everybody wants to be part of the ‘coming up’ process, and not everybody wants to see you win — especially if you’re doing it better. Sometimes it’s the ones you love the most you have to separate from.”

Despite obstacles, Kntry remains focused on expanding his audience and collaborating with both local and mainstream artists. One of his long-term goals includes working with Kevin Gates.

“A few years from now I see my fan base a whole lot bigger,” he said. “Doing shows, getting featured more — just growing.”

‘Art of Survival’

Kntry’s upcoming project, “Art of Survival,” reflects the central theme he wants audiences to take from his story: perseverance. The album will feature 15 tracks plus a bonus song and is scheduled for release April 4.

“The main focus is simple,” he said. “He did it when everybody went against him. When his world fell apart, he stood tall and kept going.”

With momentum building ahead of the release, Kntry hopes the project will introduce new listeners to his sound and message while solidifying his presence in Florida’s hip-hop scene.
