Born and raised in Tulsa, CAYWAY began recording music at 18. He recalls the moment clearly. “The first time I stepped into the studio and recorded a song, I knew music was what I was meant to do,” he said.
CAYWAY’s music centers on vulnerability — heartbreak, betrayal, relationships and personal growth. Rather than chasing trends, he focuses on authenticity. “Everything I write comes from real experiences,” he said. “My goal isn’t just to make songs. It’s to make music people turn to when they’re sad, depressed or feeling alone. If someone feels understood because of my music, that means everything to me.”
Building Momentum From Tulsa to Los Angeles
As an independent artist without major label backing, CAYWAY has steadily built traction through social media and streaming platforms. His growing online fanbase helped open doors to opportunities in Los Angeles, where he has collaborated in professional studios with Grammy-nominated producers and songwriters known for working with major industry artists.
He also attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, marking a milestone moment that reinforced his belief that his career is progressing toward mainstream recognition.
Working in high-level studio environments validated years of self-investment and persistence. “It showed me that my music was reaching a level where the industry was starting to take notice,” he said.
Overcoming Independence and Personal Setbacks
One of CAYWAY’s biggest challenges has been navigating the music business independently — managing recording, marketing, promotion and audience growth without label infrastructure. Alongside professional hurdles, personal distractions and relationships temporarily slowed his momentum.
Eventually, he made a defining decision: fully commit to his career and eliminate anything standing in the way of long-term growth. Since then, he has focused on consistent releases, expanding his digital presence and developing a full-length project currently in progress in Los Angeles.
A Vision Beyond State Lines
Looking ahead, CAYWAY envisions becoming a leading voice in the pop-rap and alternative rap space, building a global audience while remaining grounded in his Oklahoma roots. He hopes to perform for thousands and inspire other small-city artists to pursue mainstream success.
“I want to prove an artist from Oklahoma can break into the global pop world,” he said. “You don’t have to be born in a major city to chase a big dream.”
His latest press campaign aims to introduce new listeners to his catalog while building anticipation around upcoming releases created in collaboration with industry producers and songwriters in Los Angeles.
