There’s a new voice coming out of Columbus, Mississippi, and he doesn’t care what genre you put him in. YBC FAMOUS makes music on his own terms â raw, focused, and built from real experience. Since he started taking things seriously this past year, he’s been moving with a quiet intensity that’s starting to turn heads.
Started with 8 Mile, Stayed for the Art
FAMOUS traces his love for music back to a single night as a kid. His pops used to play The Eminem Show around the house, and FAMOUS would watch the TV mesmerized â telling himself he’d be the next big artist. Then one night, around age 7 or 8, the family rented 8 Mile. He watched it five times in a row.
“After that day I was so set on becoming the next big artist,” he says. That night didn’t just spark a dream â it built a foundation. Eminem’s ability to tell a real story through music, to be honest and relentless at the same time, became the blueprint FAMOUS has carried with him ever since.
Columbus to Everywhere
Columbus, MS isn’t a city people typically associate with a buzzing music scene â but FAMOUS doesn’t see that as a limitation. He draws from a wide pool of influences beyond Eminem: Deebaby, Lil Ronnie out of Fort Worth, Texas, and Honestav are all in the mix. The result is music that doesn’t box itself in.
“I just make art. Whatever category it falls in is what the public puts it in,” he says.
That kind of freedom shows in his output. He’s not chasing a lane â he’s building one.
Hate Me Now / Love Me Later
2026 is shaping up to be FAMOUS’s breakout year. He recently dropped his debut 4-track EP, Hate Me Now / Love Me Later, available now on all streaming platforms. Before the EP, he was steadily building momentum with singles â and his most successful track so far, GTR, has been picking up real traction across platforms.
With a single called B&F set to drop once the EP crosses 5,000 views, and 7+ more unreleased tracks already built up in the vault, FAMOUS isn’t slowing down. The plan is simple: stay consistent, keep building the catalogue, stay on top of the water.
First Show on His Birthday
Beyond the music, FAMOUS has already started hitting the stage. His first live performance happened on his own birthday â a moment he calls one of the most memorable of his career so far. “Other than that, I’m just getting started,” he says, with the kind of calm confidence that suggests a lot more is coming.
