Diving in, she explains, “I wrote this song while I was just starting out as an actress- sitting in my apartment in Harlem, anxious about the auditions I had to attend the next day. Instead of being anxious when the sun sets, I just learned to truly celebrate the night. It’s an anthem for the person working overtime, the person up at night with their babies, the person working a part-time job to make ends meet with big dreams for something more.”
