Victoria, Australia — A fresh wave is building in the indie music scene, and its name is Jack Miller. Born Jack De Kock, the Victoria-based singer-songwriter is stepping into the spotlight with a heartfelt mission: to connect, to listen, and to give back through his music.
Jack’s journey began at the age of six, when his parents nudged him toward the guitar as an alternative to extreme sports—a move that didn’t quite keep him off skateboards or out of the surf, but did plant the seeds of a lifelong passion. By fourteen, Jack was writing his own songs. By eighteen, he’d found his sound: a blend of indie warmth and honest storytelling, inspired by artists like Angus and Julia Stone and Sticky Fingers.
What sets Jack apart isn’t just his melodic style or evocative lyrics, but his genuine approach to connection. “I think I can relate to a lot of people and understand their point of view,” says Jack. “I’m open to hearing anyone out, showing them love with the greatest gift we can give—listening to one another. That’s exactly how I want to be treated.”
This ethos pulses through his favorite lyric:
*“The hardest part is over now it’s torn apart,
Sometimes you’ve gotta be smart, don’t use your head over your broken heart.”*
Jack Miller isn’t chasing fame—he’s building a community. He’s inviting a genuine audience to join the ride, to experience the highs and lows alongside him. His current focus? Building anticipation on Instagram (@jack.millermusic) as he works toward releasing his debut album or EP on Spotify later this year.
For now, Jack is gearing up to hit the stage, ready to share his journey live and in person. His ultimate goal: to give back to the world through music, one listener at a time.
