Khastro is a self-taught artist, producer, and storyteller who brings real-life experiences to the forefront through his music. Growing up in West Palm Beach, Florida, he began his journey in 1999 when he couldn’t afford beats and decided to learn how to make them himself. Since then, Khastro has built a sound that’s uniquely his, grounded in authenticity and powerful storytelling.
Inspired by Real Life
For Khastro, music is about giving everyday people a voice. Growing up, he was amazed at how artists from different places could share similar stories in their own unique way. This showed him how many untold stories were out there. “I’m not trying to promote violence or be something I’m not,” he explains. “I want to speak to the truths of the average person.”
Standing Out in the Crowd
While trends come and go, Khastro stays true to himself. He’s inspired by how Southern artists turned the hip-hop scene around and became a force to be reckoned with. Like Andre 3000 once said, “The South got something to say,” and Khastro is here to carry that message forward.
Highlights and Big Dreams
Khastro performed at Plug Radio’s open mic in 2023, and in 2024, he launched his own label, Heartfelt Music Group. But his dreams don’t stop there. He wants to help local artists succeed and even branch into TV and film, bringing his ideas to life for even bigger audiences.
Bringing Reality Raps Back
At a time when hip-hop is often criticized for losing its substance, Khastro is bringing reality back to the genre. His music is about storytelling, raw emotions, and truth. “Hip-hop isn’t dead,” he says. “It’s still here for those who listen.”
