Kay CraZy! and Naz.D.Plug bring their individual styles to “valleys,” a collaborative rap album from S!Z C!TY Records rooted in their Las Vegas identity.
The artwork for “valleys” places Las Vegas inside the title itself, filling its lettering with local landmarks and neighborhood imagery. It is a fitting introduction to a project that brings two artists from the city together without asking either to disappear into the other’s sound. Across nine tracks, the focus is on what they can develop through that exchange.
Kay CraZy! approaches the release as both an artist and the founder of S!Z C!TY Records, a platform he is developing around consistency, identity and lasting creative impact. His music combines the energy of production inspired by jerk with melodic experimentation and emotionally driven writing, a direction explored in his earlier single “astronaut!”. Here, Naz.D.Plug joins him as a fellow collaborator whose own style remains part of the album’s identity.
The record takes its name from the low points that make the road toward success complicated. Pressure, disappointments and the hunger to move forward are not treated as interruptions to the story; they are the story. That perspective gives the pair room to explore personal reflection alongside a more aggressive approach, rather than presenting ambition as a single, uncomplicated mood.
Energetic production and pointed lyricism give those ideas their musical framework, with both artists challenging one another while working toward a unified release. The compact sequence includes “impressed!,” “berserk! (48 laws),” “doomed! (how could i forget ?)” and “resistance!,” alongside three tracks carrying the freestyle designation. “exp+” and the closing “hooligan!” round out an album running just over 22 minutes.
The most promising quality of this rap collaboration is its commitment to individuality within a shared purpose. Two performers do not need to become interchangeable to make a project feel connected, and the premise of “valleys” gives their different responses to adversity a common context. It is a thoughtful foundation for a partnership, allowing assertiveness and vulnerability to belong to the same conversation.
