The idea sounds unlikely at first, but that was exactly what attracted the band to it. Instead of asking whether the combination should work, Kickstand Jenny wanted to find out if they could make it work.
That willingness to cross musical lines is part of what shaped the song from the beginning. The band grew up with rock and guitar driven music, but they never saw that as a reason to limit their influences. Their approach was simple: a great song can come from anywhere. As they experimented with the groove, attitude, and rhythmic intensity of the two inspirations, the pieces began to make more sense together. The goal was never to simply recreate the originals. Kickstand Jenny wanted the finished track to sound like their own music, with heavier guitars, a powerful rhythm section, and the energy of a modern hard rock band.

A Beatles fan may recognize one side of the idea, an Eminem fan another, while rock listeners get the full combination through Kickstand Jenny’s approach.
Working with such recognizable source material also changed the creative process. The band knew they had to respect what made both songs memorable while finding enough room to make “Lose Together” feel like its own track. That meant experimenting with arrangements, moving musical parts around, reshaping guitar sections, and testing how far they could push the combination without losing its natural feel. Once they reached the studio, the song continued to develop, gradually taking on a personality beyond the original concept.
One of the most interesting production details is hidden in the texture of the track. Some of the sounds that may come across as keyboards or pads are actually guitars. Using an Ibanez JS equipped with a Sustaniac system, the band was able to create a range of unusual guitar effects and textures that helped expand the sound beyond a straightforward hard rock arrangement. They also connected with producer Grady Saxman and mixer Jonathan Roach through fellow artist Royal Lynn. After hearing the sound of Lynn’s country metal work, Kickstand Jenny wanted to explore a similar level of production while bringing it into their own rock setting.
The official music video gives listeners another look at how the track came together, with studio footage showing the band during the recording process. It adds another layer to a song that was built around experimentation from the start. “Lose Together” is not about keeping genres in separate boxes. It is about hearing something that should not work, getting curious enough to try it, and pushing until it does. Kickstand Jenny did not just bring The Beatles and Eminem into the same song. They found their own way to make the collision sound like home.
