LOS ANGELES, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles rapper Crunch is stepping into the spotlight with the release of his new single, “Lost For Words,” now available on all major streaming platforms.
Crunch brings a deep industry background shaped by early work alongside major figures in music and film. As a teenager, he worked with Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson, gaining firsthand experience during a defining era in entertainment. He served as a photo double for Tupac Shakur in the 1993 film “Poetic Justice,” directed by John Singleton, performing driving scenes and stunt work, including fight sequences.
He also appeared in several of Shakur’s music videos, including “I Get Around,” “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Holler If Ya Hear Me.” In addition to appearing on screen, Crunch worked behind the camera as a second assistant director, where he helped cast and manage talent during production.
Throughout his career, Crunch has worked with a wide range of notable names, including Ice Cube, Maya Angelou and comedian Joe Torry. He also opened on tour for Juvenile during the “Burn Up the South” tour.
Despite his experience, Crunch faced challenges gaining recognition as a solo artist and securing a record deal. He credits persistence and staying focused for helping him break through. Today, he is gaining attention and building momentum with his own music.
“Lost For Words” explores the emotional impact of a relationship involving narcissism, offering listeners a personal and relatable perspective. The single reflects Crunch’s goal of connecting with audiences through honest storytelling and a style shaped by years of industry experience.
Looking ahead, Crunch aims to expand his reach worldwide and establish a lasting presence in music while continuing to share his story.
