BATON ROUGE, La. — Emerging artist JORDAN, widely known in his city as Flame, is carving out a distinct lane in hip-hop with a sound and approach he says stands apart from the norm. Representing Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the artist is focused on originality, growth and building a global presence through his music.
“I look at myself as an artist,” he said. “This art I’m presenting is deeper than rap.”
A Different Sound in a Familiar Space
In an industry often driven by trends and repetition, JORDAN is committed to standing out.
“I feel like everything I’m doing is different — a different approach, a different style,” he said. “In a world full of clones, I tell my story a little different. The music will speak for itself.”
His creative direction reflects a conscious decision to break away from local expectations and develop a sound that reaches beyond his immediate environment.
Breaking Out of the Box
One of the biggest challenges JORDAN faced was separating himself from the influence of his surroundings. Early in his career, he found himself mirroring the sounds and styles of other artists in his city.
“At one point I was boxed in, trying to make a name for myself locally,” he said. “But I had to think bigger than where I’m from.”
That shift led him to fully embrace his individuality — even when it meant taking risks and stepping outside of what his hometown audience initially expected.
A Vision for Growth
Although he says his biggest accomplishments are still ahead, JORDAN speaks with confidence about his future.
“I haven’t accomplished anything yet, but it’s in the process,” he said. “I’m going to be one of the biggest — if not the biggest — to ever do it from my city.”
Looking forward, he plans to expand the reach of his brand, FiyaMusic, and build a collective of like-minded artists who bring new energy and sound to the industry.
“I see myself building a team of artists like me and taking this global,” he said.
New Release on the Horizon
As part of his growing catalog, JORDAN is preparing to release his upcoming project, I Get Lonely Too, scheduled to drop July 21 — his birthday. The release marks another step forward in his mission to expand his audience and elevate his career.
His goal with this press run is simple: visibility and growth.
“I just want to see growth,” he said. “Whether it’s love or hate — all promotion is good promotion. I know who I am.”
