HARLEM, N.Y. — TayLyric, born Dante’ Caesar, is an artist who refuses to be boxed in. Hailing from Harlem, New York, TayLyric approaches music without rules, blending rap, melody, and raw emotion into a sound shaped by passion, experience, and independence.
Though many categorize him as a rapper, TayLyric sees himself simply as an artist. “I sing too. I play with different genres,” he said. “I can’t put myself in a category. I make what I love.”
That mindset defines both his music and his movement. As a member of New Money Gang, and Anarchy Mob, a collective that includes K’Lotty, Boe Rilla, Jay Goonie, and others, TayLyric operates under a philosophy of creative freedom. The group prioritizes expression, fun, and authenticity—embracing mixed emotions, mixed sounds, and an unapologetic, in-your-face energy.
A Foundation Built on Passion
TayLyric’s relationship with music began early. At around 11 years old, his uncle Darrell taught him how to write music—breaking down bars, hooks, and song structure. By age 13, another uncle, Jinglez, began taking him to recording studios. Though the process was frustrating at first, TayLyric quickly fell in love with the craft and never looked back.
His formal training continued at a performing arts high school in Harlem, where he formed a rock band called Say Goodnight with close friends. Within months, the group was performing at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall and The Apollo Theatre. Those early experiences laid the foundation for his confidence on stage and his versatility as a performer.
Overcoming the Grind
Like many independent artists, TayLyric faced obstacles ranging from limited access to studio space to recording in overheated apartments with whatever equipment was available. “We made it work,” he said. “And I feel like it crafted my sound.”
The pandemic became a turning point. After equipment issues forced him and his team to invest in professional studio time, TayLyric connected with engineer PiffMann, beginning a creative partnership that continues today.
“Red Summer” and What’s Next
TayLyric released his 21-track album “Red Summer” in July, a project that showcases his range and emotional depth. The album features contributions from K’Lotty, Boe Rilla, Jay Goonie, King Klay, Lunaa Maria, Drippy Lucane, and Rell Davis.
One standout track, “Give It My All,” has gained momentum after being featured on the After Hour Show, introducing new listeners to TayLyric’s sound and story.
Currently, TayLyric is back in the studio working on his next album, “Lyric,” slated for release toward the end of the summer. New singles, visuals, and additional collaborations are also on the way, signaling a busy stretch ahead as he looks toward 2026 and beyond.
“I just want my music heard,” he said. “I’ve been doing this all my life. I have so much to give.”
