Sadé Awele Releases Infectious Afro-soul Anthem ‘These Feet’

Looking to make waves with her second track of the year, though the first piece of new music for 2025, Sadé Awele is back as she unveils her slick new afrosoul anthem ‘These Feet’. Hailing from Vancouver, though born in Nigeria, Awele’s rich heritage allows her to cut lucious, silk-like tracks, cementing her as a vibrant newcomer.

Kicking off with a tempting guitar line, Awele’s vocals soon paint colours across the airwaves, giving the single a soulful edge. Coupling the silk-like nature of R&B with the finesse of soul, ‘These Feet’ tells the tale of life’s comings and goings, doubling down on personal liberty and expression, an anthem that was made for blocking out the haters. Leading up to a climactic final charge, the single fades out against a backdrop of beaming hues, dazzling synth-toplines and an empowering message of love.

The single will also be accompanied by a music video, elevating the rich artistry of ‘These Feet’ onto the silver screen, which is set to premiere on 5th November.

Diving into the creative process behind the track, Awele explains, “It first started in my living room with my guitar. I was deep in thought about life and how we can go through extreme highs and lows, and somehow manage to balance it all and keep moving forward. It got me thinking about how beauty can be intertwined with struggle, and I wanted to express that in a song what it means to own uncertainty, and accepting that some people will always judge what they don’t understand. Then came Alvin, David, Linaldo, Rennan, Chersea, and we created an alternative R&B bop!”

Sadé Awele is a Nigerian-born, Vancouver-based artist and engineer, blending Afrosoul, Afropop, and R&B into a sound that’s as intentional as it is captivating. Recently named R&B Artist of the Year at the 2024 Western Canadian Music Awards, she continues to make waves, gracing stages from Road to the Junos to festivals across Canada and Europe.

Balancing her creative pursuits with a background in engineering, Sadé brings both precision and passion to her music. Her dual path reflects a rare ability to bridge structure and soul, crafting songs that resonate with depth, groove, and authenticity.

With melodies that linger and lyrics that speak to the heart, Sadé infuses every performance with cultural richness and emotional power. She’s the kind of artist who turns reflection into rhythm, and heartbreak into healing.
