Tr3v Turns Toronto’s World Cup Energy Into Sound With “In the Six” and Upcoming Single “No Redemption”

For producer and multi-genre artist Tr3v, music has always been more than sound. It is memory, movement, emotion, and escape. Originally from Somerset, Kentucky, and now based in London, Ontario, Tr3v brings a wide musical background into his work, blending the energy of rock, the rhythm of house, the storytelling of hip-hop, and even the timeless smoothness of Frank Sinatra.

His latest release, “In the Six,” arrives at the perfect time. Inspired by the feeling of a Joga Bonito-style football ad and the growing excitement around Toronto hosting FIFA World Cup 26 matches, the track captures a city entering a global spotlight. Toronto is set to host six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, beginning with Canada’s match on June 12, 2026, the first men’s World Cup match ever played on Canadian soil.

That backdrop gives “In the Six” a cinematic sense of motion. It feels built for movement, competition, anticipation, and city pride. For Tr3v, the idea was not only to create a song connected to Toronto’s upcoming summer but to capture the rush of a major sporting moment through production.

His next release, “No Redemption,” is scheduled for May 14, 2026, and takes inspiration from another major cultural moment: the Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud. More specifically, Tr3v points to the strength of the production and the beat switches in Drake’s “Family Matters” as part of what sparked his creative direction. After producing for roughly six to seven years, he has come to understand that a beat does not always need lyrics to communicate. Sometimes, the production itself tells the story.

That belief sits at the center of Tr3v’s creative identity. His process changes depending on the day. Sometimes he gives himself only 30 to 45 minutes to make a beat, with or without samples. Once the timer ends, the beat is finished. That exercise has helped him sharpen his understanding of structure, spacing, and personal style. Other times, when he has more room to create, he starts with drums or piano. Drums were one of his earliest musical loves, while piano remains one of his favorite instruments.

From there, he lets instinct take over.

Tr3v’s musical foundation started long before production software. He began playing drums and guitar at 14, and now, at 34, he carries two decades of musical curiosity into his work. His influences stretch across generations and genres: Freddie Mercury, Metallica, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Eminem, J. Cole, Jack Harlow, Connor Price, Nic D, Hunter Flynn, and Beave.

Each influence represents a different chapter. Freddie Mercury’s fearless artistry and legendary Live Aid performance showed him the power of confidence and presence. Metallica and Tupac stood out as master storytellers. Eminem’s role in 8 Mile, especially the final rap battle, changed how he understood hip-hop. Dr. Dre’s production opened his ears to the possibilities of rap sonics, while J. Cole helped deepen his appreciation for honesty and structure within the genre.

Jack Harlow’s “Same Guy” played a particularly personal role. Hearing it during the COVID era reminded Tr3v of church, Kentucky, and the sound of his aunt and uncle playing organ and piano while people sang gospel. That connection helped motivate him to explore hip-hop production more seriously. Hunter Flynn, meanwhile, represents a more personal kind of inspiration. The two attended the same high school, and seeing Flynn leave his job to pursue music full time gave Tr3v a real-life example of creative risk paying off.

His original influences, however, remain closest to home: his parents and brother. They helped shape his musical taste by introducing him to everything from Prince and old-school country to heavier sounds like Underoath. That wide range explains why Tr3v’s music refuses to stay locked into one lane.

Still, building a career in music has not been easy. One of his biggest challenges has been standing out in an industry where thousands of new songs arrive every day. A major turning point came when he had a house track signed to Alveda Music. That moment gave him confidence and proved that his work could move beyond his own circle.

The story behind that track shows his dedication. He started the beat at 8 p.m. while lying in bed with his laptop because he could not sleep. He did not stop working until 5:30 a.m. In total, he spent around 60 hours on the track. When he submitted it, he was told the mix and master still needed work. Instead of backing away, he spent the next six months studying tutorials, practicing, and improving. That experience became one of the most important lessons of his journey.

For Tr3v, music is also emotional documentation. When he goes back and listens to old tracks, he can remember exactly how he felt while making them. Life itself keeps him inspired, and his upcoming marriage to his best friend this fall has brought a new joy that naturally finds its way into his sound.

He is also constantly searching for new ideas. Recently, he has been listening to artists such as It’s Murph, Daniel Allan, Atich, and AJ Tracey, while films like The Gentlemen have pushed him toward UK hip-hop and UK house. Even unexpected sources, like Zara playlists, have found their way into his listening rotation.

Looking ahead, Tr3v has 10 to 15 unfinished projects and is deciding whether to release them as singles or shape them into an album. He also has a few songs ready to go and plans to focus on releasing shorter beats, roughly 1:30 to 2:00 minutes, with a goal of dropping two to four per month. Collaboration is another area he wants to grow in, even if breaking that barrier still feels challenging.

With “In the Six” already setting the tone and “No Redemption” arriving next, Tr3v is entering a new stage of his creative journey. His sound is shaped by Kentucky roots, Ontario energy, global influences, and years of quiet dedication. Whether he is building house tracks, hip-hop beats, commercial music, or something in between, his goal remains simple: create music people can live with, move to, and escape through.
