London-based Afro-gospel artist Wadel Ava has released his debut single “Afro Psalm 23,” a vibrant Afrobeat gospel anthem inspired by the biblical Psalm 23 and designed for everyday life beyond church walls.
Blending the groove of Afrobeats with scripture-led storytelling, Afro Psalm 23 speaks directly to listeners navigating fear, anxiety and pressure, reframing faith as something lived daily at work, on the road and in social spaces. The track was produced by acclaimed Nigerian producer GospelOnDeBeatz and recorded at Baltic Studios, London, under Wadel Ava’s imprint Infinite Gannets Network.
Describing his sound as Afro-Gospel Entertainment (AGE), Wadel Ava aims to bridge the gap between worship music and mainstream Afrobeats, creating songs that are accessible to all while remaining spiritually grounded. Drawing from his upbringing in ministry, years of church musicianship and a long history of songwriting, Afro Psalm 23 marks the opening statement of a catalogue he has been quietly building since the early 2000s.
