A bona fide way to get your feelings out — good ones or bad ones — is to write it all out and express it musically. That’s exactly what Villain The Kidd did on “1DENTITY CR1SIS,” pouring his heart out on the mic to honor his dad who passed away.
“This song is honestly about how I was tired of running in circles [and] feeling like I was trapped,” Villain The Kidd said. “When I lost my dad he was like a black rose to me, as in the metaphors to wanting to get close to him but I couldn’t because of the thorns that always kept me from his grasp.”
“But now that he’s wilted away, I wish I had one more night with him so he could guide me in life because I still need him and I feel faceless, hence why the song is called ‘1DENTITY CR1SIS’,” he added.
Making music has changed Villain The Kidd’s life for the better, so you know he’s not going to stop any time soon.
“I’ve only been in the industry going on three years and honestly it has changed my lifestyle…I got people hitting me up saying ‘Your music saved me or took me out of a broken relationship or just a dark place’,” he said. “I’m glad I can be that beacon of hope [because] my music has a lot of meaning behind it…I’m just venting in my music and explaining the reality of life and trials people face every day.”
Villain The Kidd and his band will be making their performative debut in June 2024 at Adelanto Stadium. He’s also got new features, music videos and even plans for a new genre of music entirely.
