Turning Isolation Into Musical Innovation

Some artists fit neatly into the musical landscape around them—Young & Post Modern was never one of those artists. Growing up in a rural town, they didn’t find their sound in local scenes or radio waves. Instead, they built their own. With no like-minded bandmates nearby, they became a one-person band, learning every instrument and shaping a vision that was entirely their own. What began as a way to pass the time at 13 soon became an obsession, leading to albums, a master’s degree in music, and a sound that defies easy classification.

A Sound Rooted in Influence, Not Bound by It

Young & Post Modern’s influences stretch across decades and genres, from The Beatles and The Beach Boys to Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, and even jazz and classical composers. Their drumming, inspired by Phil Collins’ work with Genesis, adds rhythmic depth to compositions already rich with harmony and intricate instrumentation. The result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and new—a fusion of timeless songwriting and modern sensibilities.

Relentless Dedication and the Challenge of Rest

For many independent artists, financial struggles or industry gatekeeping are the biggest hurdles. For Young & Post Modern, the toughest challenge is much simpler: sleeping. “Having to sleep,” they joke when asked about obstacles. Music isn’t just a career or a creative outlet—it’s an obsession. That dedication is evident in their work ethic and the meticulous detail that goes into every track.

A Moment of Surprise and Pride

Every artist chases those defining moments—Young & Post Modern finds theirs in the faces of first-time listeners. “Seeing people’s surprised faces when they hear my music for the first time—that’s the best feeling,” they share. There’s something special about watching someone realize they’ve stumbled upon something truly unique, and it’s that reaction that fuels their passion to keep creating.

Expanding the Connection

With a growing audience, Young & Post Modern is building more ways to connect with fans. Their newly launched website, www.youngpostmodern.com, serves as a hub for updates, while an upcoming Instagram band account and YouTube channel will bring fans closer to their process. While Facebook and email remain key outlets, these new platforms will allow for deeper engagement, behind-the-scenes content, and more ways to share their evolving sound.

The Next Chapter: Building Toward “Perfect World”

Young & Post Modern is making strategic shifts to better connect with listeners and grow their fan base. While the Her Love is in a Minor Key project remains important, it’s been placed on the backburner. The updated plan includes releasing two singles first—”Visual Capture” and “The Longest Goodbye”—which can be produced and recorded quickly to attract new listeners. These songs will help set the stage for a more socially conscious project with a strong emotional hook: Perfect World.

A Perfect World—Born from Struggle

Brandon Parham, the creative force behind Young & Post Modern, is set to release his next major single, Perfect World—a song born from personal struggles and a deep sense of urgency. Inspired by his experience navigating the American healthcare system after his son’s Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis, the track channels frustration, fear, and a call for change into a powerful musical statement.

Known for his introspective songwriting and immersive instrumentation, Parham is now taking a more socially conscious approach. Perfect World not only reflects his personal journey but resonates with anyone who has faced the challenges of an imperfect system. With a release date on the horizon, the track promises to be a thought-provoking and emotionally charged addition to Young & Post Modern’s growing discography.

Stay tuned for more updates—and for a sound that continues to evolve, challenge, and connect in meaningful ways.
