TrapHousePunk: Steph’s Beautiful Rebellion

Some artists chase trends. Steph sets them on fire.

The genre-blurring frontman behind TrapHousePunk isn’t just here to entertain—he’s building a full-blown movement. Calling himself “momma’s favorite bastard,” Steph channels a lifetime of raw emotion into music that refuses to be categorized. His sound fuses the unfiltered chaos of punk, the thump of house, and the grit of trap. What started as a solo act transformed after the death of his mother in 2017, turning grief into fuel. From that moment, TrapHousePunk wasn’t just a project—it became a mission.

Picture the frantic energy of Bad Brains, the genre-fluid swagger of Brockhampton, and the kind of stage presence that leaves you wrecked and wide-eyed. That’s what TrapHousePunk delivers on stage. The group’s lineup plays like a musical fever dream: a darkwave producer, jazz-trained strings section, classically-trained vocalist Emerald Hills, and Steph himself—gritty, imperfect, and magnetic. They’ve lit up venues like the Viper Room and Whisky a Go Go, earning a loyal following of “Trap-House Punks” who come for the mosh and stay for the meaning.

“There’s no formula here,” Steph says. “It’s just truth.” And that’s what makes his voice—raspy, raw, and unmistakably human—hit harder than any polish ever could. Vulnerability is the centerpiece, not the side dish. His songs dig into grief, identity, and the weird joy of not having it all figured out. Every verse feels like a journal entry shouted from the stage. Every show feels like a purge.

With their debut single dropping in August and a showcase locked in for September 12th at Cat’s Crawl, TrapHousePunk is poised for their biggest moment yet. For Steph, success isn’t about going viral. It’s about creating space for people who don’t usually get one.

So what’s next? National tours, new solo material, and whatever wild idea comes out of Steph’s head next. But one thing’s for sure: TrapHousePunk isn’t just a band—it’s a rebellion. Beautiful, messy, loud as hell—and open to anyone ready to feel something real.

Catch TrapHousePunk live September 12th at Cat’s Crawl (doors at 8PM). New music from Steph and Emerald Hills drops late summer.
