“I wrote this song about the bitter after-taste of a breakup when you are missing the person so much and wonder if you could ever be friends again. I don’t understand the whole concept of cutting the person who once meant the most completely out of my life. ‘sick of playing pretend’ is all about trying to act like I don’t miss that person anymore whilst admitting to be asking the question, can we ever be friends?”
