At just 19 years old, Dempsey Days is making his mark on indie and alternative music. Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, Dempsey’s love for music began at 13 after discovering Lil Peep. Starting out writing poetry, he later found his way to recording music at 16, inspired by the sounds of XXXTENTACION and Mac Miller. Today, he’s crafting songs that blend heartfelt lyrics with his unique style, creating a sound that’s entirely his own.
From Stories to Songs
Dempsey’s songs are deeply personal, often inspired by his own life. One of his favorite tracks, “For Me,” from his album The (Tai)jitu Project, tells the story of a love he knew he couldn’t keep. It’s a snapshot of a moment under the stars—beautiful yet bittersweet. “It’s one of those memories that sticks with you, and I wanted to share that feeling,” he says.
Changing the Sound in the Valley
In a place where rap dominates, Dempsey’s alternative sound stands out. “I want to bring something different to the music scene here,” he explains. His goal isn’t to stand out everywhere but to create something fresh and true to himself, starting right where he grew up.
Milestones Along the Way
Without the backing of a label or big promotions, Dempsey’s music has still reached far. His first single gained 20,000 streams, and his album surpassed 50,000. He’s also collaborated with artists like Tosaku and Nik $ix, pushing his creativity even further.
Built From the Ground Up
What makes Dempsey’s music even more special is where it all happens—his bedroom. Every track, every edit, and every idea comes to life in the same room where it all began. “It’s proof that you don’t need much to create something meaningful,” he says.
What’s Next for Dempsey Days?
For Dempsey, the future is all about connection. He dreams of selling out shows and meeting the supporters who connect with his music. More than anything, he hopes his songs inspire others to chase their dreams and stay true to themselves.
