Martin Marin—known by many as Martinthephenom—grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, a city better known for its grit than its glitz. For Martin, that’s exactly what makes it the perfect place to build something real. “I wanted to show my area and the world you can do anything possible with effort and determination,” he says. That drive is what pushed him into the world of music and creativity.
Martin didn’t just want to make music for himself; he wanted to create a blueprint for others to follow. “It’s about showing people that your circumstances don’t have to define you,” he explains. “If you put the work in, you can change your life and maybe even your whole city.” He’s not just saying that—he’s living it.
Right now, Martin is juggling four different projects: a solo album and three joint albums with his partner Showtime. That’s a heavy load, but he wears it like a badge of honor. “Work ethic is everything. I want people to see that I’m not just talking about effort—I’m showing it every day.”
For Martin, music is more than a creative outlet—it’s a way to give back. He wants to use his platform to promote good music and, eventually, open doors for the youth in Cleveland. “My dream is to give back to my city. I want to be someone the next generation can look up to, someone who proves that where you start doesn’t have to be where you end up.”
