Few underground artists bring raw energy and unapologetic rage into their sound the way DARK3ST R3AP3R does. His latest single, “I’m Crashing XUT Pt.2,” is a visceral dive into chaos, anger, and sonic destruction—a track that pushes his creative boundaries while setting the tone for his upcoming album Night City, due October 30th.
The Birth of a Rage Anthem
DARK3ST R3AP3R describes “I’m Crashing XUT Pt.2” as one of the most unhinged songs he has ever recorded. Produced by usr0, Tovo, and aokigarah, the track fuses elements of trap-metal, futuristic rage, and grungy distortion into a sound designed for pure catharsis.
“This song is full of endless rage,” he explains. “When I recorded it, I was super angry—my voice was nearly shredded. I started growling like crazy, and then I figured out how to push that growl into a high-pitched growl. Once I did that, the beat just felt like the perfect fit for the vibe.”
The song’s inspiration came from a dark and frightening place. Just one day before recording, R3AP3R was consumed by intrusive thoughts and inner chaos. “I was surrounded with voices in my head screaming all kinds of shit I didn’t want to do. I was at the brink of being completely lost as a person. So I said, ‘fuck it, I’m letting this out.’ That’s where the energy came from.”
Recording in the Darkness
The song originally came to life in June but was re-recorded in July after R3AP3R decided the first version wasn’t enough. The studio re-recording gave the track the rawness and grit it needed. “The new version was just way better,” he says. “I was definitely in a very dark and scary place, but at the same time, I had a lot of fun recording it. I’m super proud of how it turned out.”
The ending of “I’m Crashing XUT Pt.2” is where things take a dramatic shift. R3AP3R describes it as a moment of possession, when he fully lets go and curses out everything in his way. “It’s probably the most surprising part when you listen. I just said, ‘fuck this, imma let my shit out.’ After that, the song cuts off—and that’s that.”
Night City – An Album Built on Chaos and Resistance
While the single itself is a monster, it’s just one piece of a bigger story. DARK3ST R3AP3R has been working on Night City for over a year, and the concept runs deep.
“Night City is a place where everyone can be anything, but at the same time it’s falling into chaos. It’s becoming a trap—where you get dragged in and turned into a Slave,” he explains. “There’s a war happening, whether you see it or not. I talk about that in my song WWX on the album.”
Another standout track, VILLAN, dives even deeper into the battle between good and evil. “I’ve seen the devil, and he’s a bigger threat than the ones who just act evil. He’s trying to conquer us all. This album is about fighting back—to save our city and create something breathtaking.”
The album title itself wasn’t always Night City. At first, R3AP3R considered calling it God of Judgment or Judgement Day, but the phrase “Night City” stuck. “It just clicked. That was the name it was meant to have.”
Collaborations and Features
Night City will also feature an impressive lineup of collaborators. Longtime partner KILLKIERAN appears on two songs, alongside Hungarian artist code : W, sl3dg3, and Im John. “The rest are surprises,” R3AP3R teases, hinting at unexpected voices set to bring more chaos into the album.
Beyond the Album
DARK3ST R3AP3R isn’t slowing down after Night City. He’s already preparing a collaborative EP with Hungarian shadow-trap artist code : W, as well as multiple singles and EPs slated for 2026. Alongside the music, visuals will play a huge role—he plans to release a music video for every single dropped moving forward.
“I’ve been super focused on content,” he says. “Every other day I go out and find crazy spots to shoot content and promote my music. It’s been working. Now, it’s about taking that momentum and giving fans more with every release.”
The Energy of Live Rage
More than anything, “I’m Crashing XUT Pt.2” is built for live chaos. Its energy, aggression, and unpredictability make it a track destined for mosh pits and festival stages. “It’s the type of song you just lose yourself to,” R3AP3R says. “The kind of track that blows the roof off a show.”
Release Date
Night City will officially drop on October 30th, with pre-orders and pre-saves available in early October. Music videos and visuals will be rolled out alongside the release, marking what promises to be DARK3ST R3AP3R’s most ambitious chapter yet.
