The Electrifying Arrival of a New Pop Powerhouse

What happens when a Juilliard-trained cellist trades her concert blacks for a pop persona? You get Katina a musical force rewriting the rules of what it means to be an artist. Her debut EP, New Love, is a vibrant, genre-defying declaration of identity, freedom, and raw storytelling.

At just 18, Katina isn’t just stepping into the spotlight she’s setting the stage ablaze. New Love is equal parts coming-of-age and coming-out, a fearless proclamation from an artist who spent years quietly honing her voice behind the scenes. Until its release, even close friends and fellow musicians didn’t know she’d been secretly building an entire sonic universe.

The EP fuses classical roots with modern textures, where cello lines sing in unconventional ways, layered with punchy vocals, vivid lyrics, and dance-worthy hooks. From the cinematic swells of “Regal Romance” to the infectious energy of “One More Try” featuring Philly rapper Deek Westside, every track is a surprise and every moment feels earned.

“I create characters, stories, entire worlds,” Katina shares. “But eventually, I realized I was writing myself into them. This EP is me, saying: this is who I am, and this is what I do.

” It’s that kind of intentional storytelling that pulls listeners into her world and doesn’t let them go.

Co-produced with longtime collaborator Leo Galbraith-Paul, the EP showcases two rising Philly talents building their own soundscape from the ground up. Their creative synergy is palpable, evolving across the tracks and anchoring the project with an unshakable heartbeat.

Highlights like “Trust Issues” and “End of the World” are dripping with drama, poetry, and emotional honesty but never lose their playfulness.

There’s cinematic depth in every beat and a deep respect for craft behind each melody. Katina’s background in classical music elevates her production style into something immersive and unexpectedly fresh.

From TikTok to the world stage literally. Katina is bringing New Love to international audiences. She’s set to perform selections from the EP at the World Expo in Osaka this August, showcasing her unique fusion of pop vocals and cello in four solo sets that promise to be as unforgettable as her music.

One thing’s for sure: New Love may be the beginning, but it sounds like the arrival of an artist who’s already found her voice. Katina is not just emerging she’s erupting.
