If you told Laura Ferguson a year ago that she’d be on Spotify making EDM-infused Latin alt-pop tracks, she might’ve laughed—but here we are. Under the name Starseed Lø Lø, the award-winning children’s book author turned singer-songwriter is proving that creative expression has no expiration date—and that it’s never too late to follow your calling.
“I’ve loved music since I was a little girl,” she says. “But growing up in a traditional Hispanic household, it wasn’t exactly encouraged.”
Still, the pull toward performing arts never left her. After making her mark in publishing (twice awarded by BookFest), Starseed Lø Lø started writing songs in early 2024. And with the love and support of her husband Chad (aka Dakota Joe), something clicked.
“Being in love really unlocked something in me,” she shares. “I finally had the courage to sing my truth.”
From Air Force to Airwaves
Before the music, there was service. Laura is an Air Force veteran who served from 2000 to 2006, stationed at Eielson AFB in Alaska and Peterson AFB in Colorado. She’s also a proud daughter of a Mexican immigrant father and a U.S.-born mother—an identity that weaves its way into her unique sonic blend of English and Spanish lyrics.
Her sound? Think Latin music meets EDM, with a splash of alternative spiritual energy. It’s emotional, layered, and vibrates with a kind of “new earth” consciousness.
“Music is like an onion,” she laughs. “You peel it back and find more meaning every time.”
A Rising Star with a Global Team
In just a short time, Starseed Lø Lø has built an international dream team. She’s collaborated with:
- Sukhendu Chakraborty (Musician & Composer – India)
- Charles J. Cliffe (Producer – Canada)
- chuk888 (Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter – Puerto Rico)
- Sad Cyrano (Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter – Germany)
She’s currently working with:
- Disincorporated Dave (Producer/Singer-Songwriter – USA)
- Rodi Stargirl (Producer/Songwriter – Greece)
- Amir Higher (Producer/Musician/Singer-Songwriter – Israel)
These collaborations have helped her grow fast—musically and professionally. And in early 2025, her Spanish track “Energía” earned her Top Musician status on Song Submit.
Not Signed, But Seen
Starseed Lø Lø may be an independent artist, but she’s not going unnoticed. She was recruited by A&R executive Sheila Adesina of A&R Music Exec and featured in Upcoming100 (read her interview here)—a major moment of validation for a newly emerging voice in the scene.
Exposure is still a challenge, but she’s diving headfirst into learning music marketing tools and embracing every new opportunity to grow.
“This is a learning journey. The more you put yourself out there, the more the universe meets you halfway.”
Music as Manifestation
At the heart of her music is a message: Life is here for you to live it. Be your dream come true.
For anyone who’s hesitant to start creating music—Starseed Lø Lø has this to say:
“If you’re thinking about it, do it. Manifesting starts with you. Making music is self-love, it’s creative expression, and it’s one of the most healing things you can do.”
She also makes it clear—AI or industry trends aside, real music is sacred.
“I have deep respect for real musicians who’ve spent years mastering their craft. My music is personal, spiritual, bilingual, and evolving. It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence.”
What’s Next?
The dream is big. In the short term, Starseed Lø Lø wants her songs featured in films. Long term? She’s manifesting a seat at the Latin Grammys—maybe even walking the carpet alongside her husband Chad, both nominated for their work.
As for right now, she’s pouring love and energy into new releases—and inviting listeners to experience something multidimensional, bilingual, and boldly heartfelt.
