South Coast lyricist and multidisciplinary artist StillDSG drops “Tactics”, a reflective and empowering UK rap single that explores the journey of becoming a man. Set for release on August 17th, the track blends melodic hooks, storytelling, and drill-inspired jazz elements to capture the challenges and lessons of growing up.
Following the success of “Coming From The Coast” and “Clouds Or Clout”, which earned spins on BBC Introducing Solent and critical acclaim, StillDSG turns inward with Tactics. The song is a letter to his younger self, reflecting on choices, resilience, and the steps required to navigate life with purpose.
“I wrote this thinking about the path we walk growing up,” says StillDSG. “It’s about making the right choices, learning from mistakes, and understanding the bigger picture God has for you.”
Tactics pairs a French jazz-sampled drill beat with dynamic percussion and melodic textures, allowing StillDSG’s storytelling and lyrical vulnerability to shine. The track draws comparisons to “Jim Legaxcy” StillDSG’s influence extends beyond music, he is a youth mentor, art curator, and creative force in the South Coast scene. Nominated for Hip Hop/Rap/Grime/Drill Act of the Year and Song of the Year at the Portsmouth Music Awards 2025, he continues to inspire a new generation of artists through both his craft and community engagement.
