Berlin-based artist Solarrio steps back into the spotlight with his sophomore album ‘Toxicology’, released November 19, 2025, a sleek, funk-soaked body of work that dissects love, addiction, and emotional dependency with unflinching honesty. Framed by the chilling mantra “Love is dead — this album is the toxicology report,” the record transforms personal reckoning into a stylish fusion of synthpop, modern funk, and hip-hop, where glossy production meets bruised introspection.

Building on the momentum of his 2024 debut All the Wrong Places, Solarrio sounds more fearless and self-aware than ever. ‘Toxicology’ doesn’t shy away from discomfort; instead, it dances inside it. Lush basslines, rubbery funk guitars, and neon-tinted synths form the backdrop for lyrics that confront emotional patterns, self-sabotage, and the magnetic pull of destructive relationships. “This album is about accountability,” Solarrio explains. “It’s me dissecting my own toxicity — but still keeping it funky.” That balance between confession and groove defines the album’s core.

The project’s lead single, ‘Under My Spell’, serves as its intoxicating entry point. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Alhassan Sakho, the track glides on a hypnotic funk rhythm, equal parts seductive and unsettling. Written from the perspective of the substance, or fame itself, the song flips the narrative, allowing temptation to speak directly to its victim. Smooth melodies mask a darker undercurrent, capturing the slow erosion of control in a way that feels dangerously inviting. It’s chilled, addictive, and impossible to shake.

Beyond the studio, Solarrio’s global ascent continues to accelerate. His breakout single “B the 1” landed MTV airplay in the U.S., while “NLF” featuring Holland Izz found a home on BET Jams. In Latin America, his sound has resonated deeply, earning widespread radio rotation and media attention in Mexico City and Guadalajara. November 2025 will see him take ‘Toxicology’ on the road with a Japan tour, followed by a showcase appearance at SXSW 2026.

With ‘Toxicology’, Solarrio refines his vision and sharpens his edge, proving that vulnerability and funk can coexist powerfully. It’s an album that turns inner chaos into controlled, danceable clarity, positioning him as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary funk-pop today.
