“Hip-hop house” is not a term that many may know, but no need to worry, Jay Khalil has got you covered. The Miami native has successfully tackled the niche sound that he says is successful in his local area, adding that once he heard it, he was all in.
“The inspiration behind the release of ‘Princess’ was to create something playful while stepping into this new sound I’ve been honing,” Jay Khalil said. “I wanted to make something for everyone to enjoy while listening to what else I’m capable of doing creatively.”
The track was also the first collaboration between Jay Khalil and Miami producer Golden Flora, a partnership that will likely reunite sooner rather than later for another banger. Another 305 legend, Miami Beat Wave, lent engineering help, giving “Princess” a signature crisp, clean feel.
So, what’s next for this incredible Hispanic-Arabic recording artist? Well, the first thing you should know is that he’s dropping an EP titled Gold N’ Purple on June 14. He’s also got a performance at the III Points festival in Miami lined up for later this year, and he’s ushering in a new era: the PURPLE ERA.
“I welcome everyone to it and I [hope you] enjoy what comes next,” he said.
