Wait no more because Singer/Songwriter McKenna Camille has released her next single. The track titled “Waiting” began streaming on July 1st on all platforms. The upbeat pop single is a ” roll down your windows and blast the radio” type of tune that will be the perfect addition to your summer playlist. “Waiting” is the follow up single to “Narcissus” which was released in May. As an entertainer, McKenna has performed all over the world including performances at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. A graduate of the prestigious Tisch School of Dramatic Arts at NYU, McKenna is also an actress and is working on some exciting projects coming up in the fall. McKenna is always working hard on new music or acting projects, but when she has some downtime she enjoys traveling, water skiing, and hanging out in nature. As busy as she is we were thrilled when she took the time for this interview about her latest single.
1. Hello McKenna! Thank you so much for the interview. Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
“Waiting is about waiting for someone who is clearly not emotionally available. Maybe he’s waiting for his ex or the “perfect girl” that will never come.
2. How would you describe the sound behind it?
The sound is very 80s!
3. What was the inspiration for the track?
“Waiting” is basically about someone going stir crazy at home waiting for someone to decide you are the right one for them.
4. A lot of your music comes from personal experiences. Do you find you are more inspired to write music when things are going well in your life or when you are going through tough times?
Tough times are unfortunately always easier to write about. When you’re happy you don’t really need an outlet to vent to.
5. What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
I want everyone to know that not everything is too serious. Sometimes you gotta call yourself out!
6. If you could collaborate with any music producer, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
If I could collaborate with any music producer it would billie eilish and finneas for sure
7. What’s next for you as an artist?
Lots of new music and some film work and theatre as well!
