Miss Freddye began her music career in 1996 when she auditioned for the Blues Music Works aka…BMW. Under the tutelage of her mentor, Al Leavitt, aka Big Al, she learned the Signature sounds of blues from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. Miss Freddye was also heavily influenced by her mother, who’d often play blues music on the record player. Through her mother and her mentor, Miss Freddye developed a deep appreciation for blues and gospel music which she still carries today.
When it comes to her performance, Miss Freddye puts great emphasis on connecting with her audience. She pays close attention to their needs in order to make sure that her blues lyrics carry the right amount of emotion and resonance. Miss Freddye also understands the importance of engaging with the audience by telling jokes and creating stories. Through this approach, she is able to bring the lyrics to life and make sure that the audience can truly feel what she is singing.
