“Empower a woman and you empower a whole nation.”
A coalition of influential Black women from various corners of the United States recently convened for a historic press conference held outside the United Nations Headquarters at 777 United Nations Plaza. Prominent figures such as Empress Dr. Phile’ Chionesu, H.E. Dr. Ameena Ali, and H.E. Queen Mother Ma’ati Auset, along with esteemed leaders like H.E. Shanta Lana Hereford and UNIA’s Basiymah M. Bey, led this gathering. They issued a powerful declaration against the interference of the United States (U.S.), the United Nations (UN), and Kenya in Haiti’s crisis. This pivotal moment highlighted their commitment to advocate for equity, restorative justice, and empowerment on a global scale.
The women strongly condemned Western intervention in Haiti’s crisis and are actively seeking dialogue with CARICOM members to discuss solutions proposed by the Haitian people. These solutions focus on granting Haiti autonomy to govern itself and demand the reimbursement of $300 billion for Haiti’s reconstruction. The proposal includes the establishment of a three-member presidential council and a 149-member parliament, as outlined in Haiti’s original constitution.
United under the banner of collective action and sisterhood, these extraordinary women serve as a beacon of hope. They rally global masses around critical issues including colonialism, colorism, tribalism, genocide, matricide, and the proliferation of divisive weaponry. They embody the ancestral wisdom and resilience of past generations and cultivate alliances for trade and investment. These leaders passionately champion the sovereignty and preservation of cultural heritage of Afro-descendants and Indigenous nations worldwide. These trailblazing and pioneering women exert significant influence in shaping the economic landscape of their communities. Driven by unyielding resolve, they create avenues for sustainable growth and prosperity, ensuring that the voices of Black women are heard and respected within power echelons. In solidarity with the oppressed and strengthening political ties, these powerful women are organizing impactful events such as The Birth of a New Nation Global Peace Summit (BNNGPS) in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 18-26, 2024, and The Million Woman World March in October in Washington, DC. These gatherings serve as rallying points for change, galvanizing individuals and communities to stand together in pursuit of justice and equality. As the world faces unprecedented challenges, these visionary leaders stand united in their commitment to uplift Black women, the Black family, and the rest of the world, affirming their rightful place as agents of change and champions of progress.
