Greta White is proof that even the smallest places can spark the biggest dreams. Born and raised in a quiet town in northern Italy, this 22-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer is turning the limitations of her upbringing into the fuel for her rise in the Electro Pop and Synth Pop scene.
“I grew up in a place where chasing big dreams wasn’t the norm,” Greta says. “But that’s what gave me the fire to create my own opportunities and work even harder.”
Music That Tells a Story
Greta’s connection to music began early. At just six years old, she was already studying choral and contemporary singing, and by ten she had started piano lessons. During her teenage years, she took part in national singing competitions and began experimenting with songwriting. She studied voice for ten years with the vocal coach Danila Satragno—who also coaches Damiano David, lead singer of Måneskin—and pursued training in songwriting and producing with the producer Mario Fanizzi. Today, she writes, composes, and produces all her music directly from her home studio.
“With Danila Satragno, it was a wonderful journey in which my voice found its path. Every week, I would travel 100 km back and forth to reach her studio in Milan. On the way back, I used the time to grab something to eat and study for the next day, while my father drove,” she says. “Working with Mario Fanizzi was like discovering a whole new world where I could fully unleash my creativity!”.
“My music is my truth,” she shares. “It’s how I process life, connect with others, and express what words alone can’t.”
Her sound draws inspiration from artists like Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and The Weeknd, blending shimmering synths with introspective lyrics and danceable beats. But Greta isn’t content to stick to one style.
“I’m curious by nature, so I love mixing genres and creating something that feels fresh but still authentically me.”
Highlights on the Rise
Greta’s journey is already packed with milestones. She’s been a finalist in Area Sanremo, competed in Sanremo Junior and Sanremo Young, and won Rolling Stone’s #SANROLLING challenge. She’s also independently released three singles: At The End, We’re Still Alive, Trust Someone Again and this spring, her fourth single will be released. The title? ’… well, follow me to find out!’.”
Her accomplishments speak to her drive, but it’s the stories behind them that make her journey so relatable. Take the small scar on her left eyebrow—a childhood accident that’s now become a signature feature. “It’s funny how something so small has become part of my identity,” she laughs.
Another moment that captures Greta’s essence? In 2016, she donated a painting titled Don’t Let Dreams Fade Away to her middle school, a gesture that reflects her unwavering belief in the power of dreaming big.
Chasing Ambitions, Breaking Barriers
Greta isn’t stopping anytime soon. She dreams of attending Berklee NYC’s Master in Songwriting & Production program and becoming a key figure in international pop music. “It’s not just about success,” she explains. “It’s about creating music that connects with people and makes them feel understood.”
Her journey hasn’t been without challenges—breaking into the music industry as an independent artist requires grit and sacrifice. But for Greta, every step is worth it. “If you wait for opportunities to come to you, you’ll be waiting forever,” she says. “You have to create them yourself.”
