From soccer pitches in Spain to Spotify playlists worldwide, ETBOADI—born Ernest Takyi Boadi—is a name you’re about to hear everywhere. This Accra-born, Barcelona-raised artist and songwriter brings a fresh, boundary-breaking sound that’s impossible to ignore.
From Goals to Bars: A Pandemic Pivot
Life doesn’t always go as planned, and for ETBOADI, that curveball came when COVID-19 shut down his soccer dreams. With clubs folding and players left stranded, he moved back home, feeling stuck but refusing to settle. Then his brother Waiiter, already making waves in music, reminded him of the songs he wrote as a kid. That’s when it clicked: music wasn’t just a backup plan—it was the plan.
Fast forward to today, and ETBOADI is running his own label, ET-Nation Community (ETNC), and creating music that blends hip-hop, Afrobeats, and comedy into something uniquely his. “Starting in 2021, we’ve been on this journey. It hasn’t been easy, but people love what we’re building,” he says.
A Soundtrack That Speaks (In Four Languages!)
ETBOADI doesn’t just make music; he crafts vibes that transcend borders. Singing and rapping in English, Spanish, Twi, and Catalan, he’s redefining what it means to be a global artist. Whether it’s a fiery verse or a smooth hook, his tracks hit differently because they’re rooted in authenticity.
“I’m not here to copy anyone. My music reflects who I am: a blend of cultures, languages, and experiences,” he says. “It’s music for everyone.”
No Investors, No Excuses
As an independent artist, ETBOADI wears all the hats—creative, producer, marketer, and yes, financier. “Finding support is hard. Even friends can doubt you. But I use what I earn from my factory job to invest in my dreams,” he shares. “The grind is real, but so is my belief in what I’m building.”
Press Play on “Dora”
If you’re wondering where to start, his latest single “Dora,” a collaboration with his brother Waiiter, is the perfect entry point. Equal parts catchy and innovative, “Dora” blends storytelling with beats that’ll get you moving. And while it’s already buzzing in Barcelona and Madrid, ETBOADI is dreaming much bigger.
What’s Next for ETBOADI?
This is just the beginning for ETBOADI. As he works toward making music his full-time career, he’s setting the stage for global tours and collaborations. “I’m not giving up anytime soon,” he says with determination. “My time is coming—it’s just a matter of when.”
Turn up “Dora” and join ETBOADI on his incredible journey. The world better be ready.
