Out of Boise, Idaho, a new sound is breaking through the noise of the industry—a sound fueled by authenticity, resilience, and raw emotion. That sound belongs to Laurance, a project fronted by Brian “Laurance” alongside collaborators Phillip (Philly Chee) and Elijah. Together, they form a collective that blends rap, songcraft, and production into something bigger than music: a movement rooted in connection.

Laurance is more than just a stage name—it’s both the identity of the front man and the heartbeat of the group. Brian leads as vocalist and songwriter, while Elijah brings his skills as songwriter, producer, and engineer. Phillip contributes as songwriter, producer, and backing vocalist. Since forming in 2022, the trio has been sharpening their craft and growing their community, guided by a mantra that cuts to the core: Build each other up.

Music as Healing, Music as Purpose

For Brian, music wasn’t always the obvious path. He spent years chasing a dream of playing professional baseball, only for that pursuit to end after college. It wasn’t until tragedy struck—the sudden passing of his father, Larry, in 2020—that music became more than just a creative outlet. “Making music with Eli and Phil gave me a way to grieve and process my dad’s passing,” Brian shares. “It gave me purpose when I couldn’t see one before.”

That emotional depth lives inside every Laurance song. It’s not just about beats and rhymes—it’s about creating a platform of acceptance and sonic rebellion, where fans can feel part of a community that celebrates vulnerability and strength.

Rising Through the Ranks

Though only a few years in, Laurance has already made an impression. Early on, the group entered a DJ Khaled–hosted song competition and landed in the top 30 worldwide, a milestone that pushed them to take their artistry seriously. They’ve since opened for legends like Afroman, Wu-Tang Clan’s Masta Killa, Chiddy Bang, Def-I, and Sol.

Festival stages have also become home turf. Laurance has performed at Boise Music Festival—sharing the lineup with heavyweights like Jelly Roll, Cee-Lo Green, and Ludacris—and at the renowned Treefort Music Fest, which attracts artists from across the globe. Each performance has been another step toward their larger goal: connecting with as many people as possible, live and in the moment.

New Releases: “Foxy Mama” & “Hey Pretender”

This year marks a new chapter with the release of “Foxy Mama”, a track that captures the group’s playful yet boundary-pushing energy. Following on its heels is “Hey Pretender”, set to drop in early August. The song promises to expand Laurance’s genre-bending approach while doubling down on the emotional honesty that defines their sound.

For fans, these tracks are more than music—they’re an invitation into the Laurance family, where community, growth, and connection take center stage.

Looking Ahead

The vision for Laurance is clear: touring, building community, and creating music that makes people feel seen, accepted, and supported. Ultimately, the goal is to turn this passion into a full-time reality, freeing the trio from their service industry day jobs and allowing them to dedicate themselves fully to their art.

“We want to share energy and emotion on stage and give people a sense of belonging,” Brian says. “That’s the dream—using music to lift people up.”

With “Foxy Mama” already making waves and “Hey Pretender” on the horizon, Laurance isn’t just carving out space in the music industry—they’re building a home for anyone who’s ready to join them.
