Six years is a long time to wait, but Kris Pohlmann knows how to make it worth it. The British-born, German-based blues-rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter is stepping back into the spotlight with Relentless, his first album since 2019. Dropping on March 7, 2025, it’s a raw, powerful blend of blues, rock, and storytelling—and judging by the first single, It’s Only Love, it’s going to blow your speakers (and your mind).

“It feels good to be back,” Kris says with an infectious grin. “This record is personal—it’s me putting my heart and soul out there. I just hope people connect with it the way I did when I wrote it.”

From Football Pitches to Fender Riffs

Here’s the thing about Kris Pohlmann: music wasn’t always his game plan. Born in England to an English mother and German father, Kris spent his early years bouncing between two worlds—and football was his first love. But after five knee surgeries and countless brutal matches, he decided it was time to give his body (and his soul) a break.

That’s when music took over. At 15, Kris fell for rock ‘n’ roll watching Status Quo’s record-breaking four-concert marathon on TV. “The groove, the energy, the way they swung their guitars—it hit me like a bolt of lightning. I had to be part of it,” he remembers.

With his first electric guitar, a black Fender Squire Telecaster, Kris started his journey. Fast-forward to 2005, and he’s leading the Kris Pohlmann Band in Düsseldorf, mixing blues, rock, and everything in between. From playing jam nights to headlining tours and supporting legends like Eric Gales, Kris carved out his space in the blues-rock world—one riff at a time.

What Makes Kris, Kris?

Kris isn’t your run-of-the-mill blues guy. Sure, the classics are in his blood—Freddie King, ZZ Top, John Lee Hooker—but his music is a genre-bending experience. “I’ve got phases,” he says. “Sometimes I want to play raw blues, other times it’s gritty rock. Status Quo will always be in my DNA, too.”

But Relentless takes things to a deeper level. Inspired by the loss of his father, the album explores grief, resilience, and the healing power of music. “I didn’t get to say goodbye to my dad, and that’s something I’m still working through. Writing these songs helped me deal with that. If they can do the same for someone else, then I’ve done my job.”

Mark Your Calendar: March 7, 2025

With his latest single, It’s Only Love, Kris reminds us why he’s won six German Blues Awards and earned worldwide acclaim for albums like One For Sorrow. It’s blues-rock with heart, soul, and a groove that sticks with you long after the track ends.

This is just the beginning of Kris’s next chapter, and he’s ready to make waves—again.

Get ready to feel the groove, turn up the volume, and experience Relentless. The journey starts now.
