Right now the rap world is experiencing a surge in talented female artists. From Glorilla to Sexxy Red; it’s clear that the ladies in hip hop have something to say! Another female artist who’s been making a statement is China Monai.

Originally from Albany, GA, China is known for her ability to both rap and sing. According to China, “I knew music was my passion and I would give it everything I had.” Realizing what she wanted to do with her life, she China left her job at Olive Garden and moved to Atlanta to pursue her career. This was a move that proved to be rewarding.

In 2020 China signed with Atlanta’s Ugly Money Niche. She would go on to drop her single “Jetski” and it quickly gained hundreds of thousands streams. This single led to China going viral on Tik Tok and getting placed on several major tours!

Currently China Monai is promoting her single “Submissive”. The song is an anthem for women who actually don’t mind submitting to their man. It’s clear that China is spilling a different narrative than the typical “hot girl” artist. She even spoke about this perspective this year on No Jumper.
