G.H.O.S.T. Mayne, also known by his alter egos Da Villain and Richie Rich, is a Fort Worth, TX native who has been creating music since the 6th grade. Music has been his passion from a young age, but after the passing of his mother this year, his motivation reached a new level. For G.H.O.S.T. Mayne, the music he makes is not just about expression—it’s about keeping a promise to immortalize his mother, one of the most important people in his life. “My mom was one of the best people to ever walk this earth,” he shares. “Besides the people that know her, nobody else really knows who she is. I want to immortalize my mom. This music is just a path to do so.”
Inspired by artists such as K-Ci & Jojo, Dru Hill, Chamillionaire, Eminem, and T.I., G.H.O.S.T. Mayne’s sound blends Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, and alternative influences. His music is personal, raw, and laced with lyricism that reveals both his struggles and his resilience. Diagnosed with ADHD this year, G.H.O.S.T. Mayne has faced challenges like stuttering, dyslexia, and the weight of depression following his mother’s passing. However, through his diagnosis and treatment, he has found the focus and clarity to fully invest in his music career.
Over the past few weeks, he has released more than 10 tracks, showcasing his evolution as a lyricist and entertainer. Among these releases, tracks like “Rizz, Skibidi, & Ohio” and “Appetite for Elite” have stood out as examples of his witty wordplay and dynamic sound. His latest project, the EP Mr. New Money, is a testament to his growth and creative vision. The 7-track EP highlights his ability to craft clever lyrics while maintaining an entertaining and engaging sound.
Despite facing hurdles in the industry—including encounters with scam record labels—G.H.O.S.T. Mayne remains undeterred. He is clear in his belief that self-confidence and perseverance are key: “I believe in myself, and that is all that I need to ride this wave to the top.”
While he has yet to pause and savor any specific moments of his career, his sights are set on one goal: getting signed. For G.H.O.S.T. Mayne, the true memorable moments will come once he’s able to honor the promise he made to his mother by finding success in the industry.
With Mr. New Money now available, G.H.O.S.T. Mayne is excited about what the future holds. The EP’s combination of sharp lyricism and catchy instrumentals sets the stage for even more music to come. He hints that alongside Mr. New Money, at least 3-5 additional tracks are in the works, promising more new material soon.
