Futurecop! Unveils New Synth-pop Album ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’

Following the release of ‘So… Far Away’ earlier in the summer, Futurecop! is back as he unveils his long-awaited new album ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’. His first full-length studio album since 2023, the album looks to reintroduce electronic artist Futurecop! as a boundary-pushing talent.

Coupling dazzling synth-pop toplines with an unmissable dance-laden backbone, ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’ is quick to cement itself as a return to form for the Manchester-born creative. The project plays host to a whole range of influences, touching on dream-pop, indie, and hyper pop. It’s this boundless attitude to creativity that gives the album its emphatic glow. Taking inspiration from Japanese TV dramas and a healthy heaping of nostalgia, the thirteen-track album looks to inspire a new era for Futurecop!

Speaking about the album, he shares, “Wind, Town & Flowers is my most expansive and refined work yet, both in production and in storytelling through music. I wanted to capture that warm, nostalgic feeling with modern sounds, blending synth-driven melodies with cutting-edge production, like the soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. Inspired by retro synths, classic films, and mostly 90s Japanese TV dramas I discovered while making the album, it’s rooted in nostalgia but feels distinctly modern.”

Adding “Telling a story of growing up, coming of age, and returning older to where they grew up. Musically, it fuses electronic, synthwave, R&B, dance, pop, rock, and even liquid drum & bass, creating a diverse but cohesive journey. Each track is meant to feel ethereal and uplifting, inviting listeners to reconnect with their memories and find their own story within the music.”

Born in Manchester, Futurecop! is the vision of producer Manzur Iqbal, who turned his love of retro pop culture into a synth-swept dreamscape. Blending neon-soaked textures with euphoric melodies, his sound evokes 80s teen movies, arcade nights, and cosmic nostalgia. From cult classics like The Unicorn & the Lost City of Alvograth to recent albums From Oceans Within and Between the Moon and Stars, Futurecop! has carved a lasting space in the electronic music universe. Making a return for 2025, he looks to release his forthcoming album, ‘Wind, Town & Flowers’
