In the sun-soaked streets of Oxnard, California, a new voice is emerging from the 805. JABEL, a Marine Corps veteran turned musician, is crafting his own lane in the music industry with raw authenticity and unwavering determination.
Music has been JABEL’s constant companion since childhood, but his path to becoming an artist wasn’t traditional. It began with a borrowed guitar from his sister during his high school years, where self-taught YouTube sessions eventually led to formal training in guitar, piano, and choir. However, it wasn’t until after his service in the Marine Corps that JABEL’s musical journey truly took flight.
In 2019, encouraged by a friend, he enrolled at the Los Angeles Recording School, where he earned his associate’s degree in music science. During this time, he invested heavily in vocal training and technical expertise, laying the foundation for his artistic future.
What sets JABEL apart is his commitment to authenticity. His lyrics aren’t just words on paper – they’re chapters from his life story. From experiencing homelessness to facing time in county jail, JABEL transforms his struggles into powerful narratives that resonate with listeners. His upcoming track showcases his clever wordplay and confident delivery: “All of the ones who doubted, Now watching me grow as they bump in my flow yet act like they don’t.”
The Oxnard native is currently preparing to make his mark with his debut EP “Cold As Ice,” scheduled for release in July. The four-track project will feature anticipated songs including “I’m Back,” “Cold As Ice,” “Notice Me,” and a bonus track that promises to showcase his versatility as an artist.
For JABEL, success isn’t just about personal achievement – it’s about representation. “I’m here to put the 805 on the map,” he states with conviction. His goals extend beyond music, focusing on building genuine connections with fans and establishing a lasting brand in the industry.
Fans can follow JABEL’s journey on Instagram and TikTok @Jabelmusic_ or connect with him on Snapchat @jabelmusic. With his Marine Corps discipline, natural talent, and unwavering dedication, JABEL is positioned to be one of the 805’s most promising rising stars.
