Lighta: My name is Lighta, Heavy Lighta, and I proudly represent Hamburg, Khartoum, and various other places.

Lighta: One of the most unforgettable chapters in my musical journey within the past year was when the talented Newyorkian artist 7xve The Genius (Drumwork Music Group) signed on for a feature on my single “Shake A Block.” It happened in December 2022, but the resonance of that moment still echoes in my creative soul. Opening the email with the signed agreement while a New York documentary played in the background, discussing the city’s challenges, added a special layer of significance to the opportunity.

Q: What’s the title of your current single and the meaning behind it?

Lighta: The current heartbeat of my musical expression is “Roll Wit Di Rebel.” While interpretations may vary, I see it as a love story of an outsider navigating a digital world, intertwined with the narrative of the power of heart, mind, and soul.

Q: Any upcoming projects? That you can speak on…

Lighta: Always crafting new melodies, I had initially planned to release another piece in December. However, the effortless promotion of “Roll Wit Di Rebel” has made me consider saving the next tune for the dawn of 2024. Anticipate more vibes and the possibility of exciting collaborations.

Lighta: My aspiration is to accomplish the most I can—without limiting myself to specific numbers. I aim to continue producing soul-stirring vibes and embark on an inspiring tour, connecting with audiences globally.
